Love the composition, the wide open aperture on the subject which remains tack sharp, and the superb selective focus

Location
I took this photo at one of the Lake Erie beaches.Time
This was taken in the early afternoon.Lighting
It was a bright day, so I used natural light.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3200 with my kit lens, an 18-55mm.Inspiration
I was walking on the beach, taking photos of the water, birds, lighthouse, and sand when I saw this tiny feather. The sun was shining on the water droplets, which is what caught my eye. I stopped and got down on the sand to get some close shots, and this was my favorite. I thought it looked like a piece of jewelry.Editing
The only post processing was to sharpen the feather, masking out the foreground and the background to allow the feather to pop.In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D3200 camera, an 18-55mm lens and a 70-300mm lens, 3 batteries and a charger, lens filters, camera cleaning kit, cables, and 4 SD cards.Feedback
The only advice I can give is to try for fresh perspectives. Be willing to get down on the ground to make your shot different. Also, take several shots to give yourself a choice. Sometimes it's the last shot I took that is my favorite.
