Wow - that's a pretty good start to your VB experience. Loads of character and well processed. Look forward to seeing more...

this is the image that drew me to your gallery! I feel like I could be right there on the beach, smelling the sea air and feeling the breeze.

Location
This photo was taken on the island of ibiza in winter. I have always loved Photography but never had much time to study, I was a teacher. When I retired, I treated myself to a reflex camera Canon 600. I would go out and shoot anything that came into view.I became more and more interested and aware of everything about me, looked at everything in a different light. Using internet to find tutorials and teach myself as much as I could. Then took a short beginner's course here in ibiza. followed by a course on lightroom and photoshop. I got so carried away looking at all the wonderful photos on the web. That I decided to buy a full frame camera Canon 5d mark 3. I am still learning and never seem to get the exact result that I want. i suppose that is a good thing.Time
This shot was taken on a cold day. I had driven around the Island and taken many shots. This particular beach Cala Salada caught my eye I am a big fan of blues and greens. The lush green of the algae in this scene was probably the icing on the cake.Lighting
The light in Ibiza is wonderful in winter, mornings of misty pastel colours and in late afternoon, the blue or golden hour is a feast for the eye. Summertime is great in the early morning and afternoon, but after midday the sun is very high and flattens everything into cardboard cutouts.Equipment
When I took this photo, I didn't own a tripod or a full frame camera just a Canon 600. Used a 24 - 105 mm. lensInspiration
I just love Ibiza and in winter when the tourists have left, one gets inspired wherever you look.Editing
Post processing was just a lttle enhancing of colours and levels. In my camera bag
I use My Canon 5D mark 3 for most of my landscapes with a wide angle 16 - 35 mm.long exposure are my favourites with a good sturdy tripod. I have the classic 24 - 105 mm. for general shot. my most recent buy is a Tamron 150 - 600 mm. for wildlife photography.Feedback
As this was one of my first captures and at that time lack equipment, I now approach landscapes and seascapes in a different way. I like to plan my shots, arriving at the scene early and walking around a little first to get the feel of the location. Light, angle etc. I try to enjoy myself, however, I do get frustrated sometimes but on a good day with a few good captures it makes it all worth it.
