Location
This photo was taken at the back side of St. Finbarr's Oratory. We were there to shot the Oratory and had done so. We were deciding whether we wanted to have breakfast at the Gougane Barra Hotel or go shot the Gougane Barra Forest. While discussing this, leaning against the wall, I had snapped a couple quick photo's. I hadn't thought about it much until arriving back in the states The photo stood out right away when I transferred the files.Time
It was a very early morning photo shot. We had arrived before sunrise. It was foggy and had a slight chill in the air. There was some concern that the fog wouldn't lift before the harsh lights of the sun made it harder to shot. Needless to say the fog did lift and I took many wonderful photographs.Lighting
No artificial lighting. Taken during the "blue" hour of the morning.Equipment
The Camera was my Olympus E-M5, I believe the lens may have been my M. Zukio 14-150mm f/4.0-5.6. Manfrotto tripod mounted to an arca-swiss monoball head.Inspiration
LOL, this is funny. I wasn't really inspired nor had I planned the shot. I suppose there was something there that moved me to take the photo but nothing that was overwhelmingly compelling. All I can say is keep taking shots. Plan the shoot, but be flexible.Editing
I used lightroom to post process the photo. I would change a couple elements of the processing such as saturation. This is one of my earliest experiences and I have a better understanding of light balance and such.In my camera bag
E-M5 camera body. M. Zuiko-12mm f/2.0 prime lens, 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7, 14-150mm f/4-5.6 and a 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 Macro kit lens. ND filters. polarizers, Small LED light panels, head lamp and flashlights, remote shutter release, extra batteries and memory cards and a shoulder sling to carry the camera generally when I'm hiking or in crowds off the tripod.Feedback
Be patient and work the shot if it is something you had planned in advance. I would love to return to this site to re-shoot the scene. Had I only known.
