Location
I took this amazing shot in Antelope Canyon; it's a slot canyon near Page, Arizona in the Navajo Nation. Without a doubt, this is the most photogenic location on the planet. You have to try extremely hard to take a bad shot.Time
It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. The photo was taken around noon, which is not ideal for the slot canyon, as you do not want the sun directly above; it'll bleach your sky shots. I was extremely lucky in that the sun bleed wasn't too strong in this photo.Lighting
Preferably, I would have gone either later or earlier in the day, but I the lighting changes at every turn in this slot canyon. Being a slot canyon by nature and by being about 20-50 feet underground, you have to "eye" it a bit.Equipment
I used a Canon T5 Rebel with just a standard 35mm lens. I didn't bring anything else with me, except for a few extra batteries and an extra SD card.Inspiration
I've seen photographs from Antelope Canyon for years and knew that I had to go. I got the opportunity to go while I was on a trip through Utah's National Parks. If given the opportunity again, I'd go back over and over.Editing
I normally post-process my photographs; however, this photograph needed nothing. I took it from the SD card and put it online without a single edit.In my camera bag
Typically, I have my Canon T5, Canon T5i, two tripods, multiple lenses, 10 charged batteries, 5 SD cards, and 3 cell phones to be used as cameras - Samsung Galaxy 8+, 10+, Note 10.Feedback
Honestly, just go to Antelope Canyon. You'll take hundreds of photos, most of which you'll want to frame. In some cases, you may want to edit them in Lightroom, adding a purplish gradient to them to give the iconic Antelope Canyon look. In the end, just go there, you'll be a better photographer for it.
