Such a simple subject, expertly portrayed. Absolutely stunning image.

I love the colors in this, maybe the rule of thirds or different composition would enhance the tone

Love this! I read somewhere that Hemmingway once wrote that you should get your emotion in one quick sentence, and wow, you hit the mark!

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Arkansas across the street from my aunts house.

Time

This photo was taken around noon during a snow storm.

Lighting

Id been waiting around for a few hours just waiting for the sun to peek through the clouds and finally got my window of opportunity.

Equipment

This was captured using a Canon EOS REBEL T3i with a 55-250mm lens. Aperture: f/6.3 ISO: 400 Exposure: 1/640 Focal Length: 250/1 I also had a gallon sized ziplock bag over the camera body with just the front of the lens sticking out to try and protect the camera from the snow (which ended up working fantastically).

Inspiration

Im from south FL so i dont see snow ever. So when i saw it was snowing i just wanted to go out and take as many pics as i could. I came across this sign and just loved the way the snow was piling up on it and the coils of barbed wire and thought it would make for a neat shot.

Editing

Did a little color adjustment in PS CS3.

In my camera bag

Currently a Canon T3i, 18-55 & 55-250 mm lenses, lens wipes, a large zip lock bag (in south FL you need something just in case of rain), a pocket knife (you never know when itll come in handy) and band aids (im quite accident prone lol).

Feedback

Definitely bring something to cover/protect your camera from the snow. Dress warm so you dont freeze in the process. Falling snow makes for a beautiful back ground so use it to your advantage.
