Behind The Lens

Location

This is probably one of my favorites from when I started developing a passion for photography. This is an image I took of my daughter while we were in New Orleans enjoying all the amazing shops there. I had asked her to try on some of the masks and her eyes just popped that I snapped this image and only this one and I was in love with the image and how beautiful my daughter is.

Time

This was taken roughly mid afternoon on Christmas eve 2012.

Lighting

The lighting was just natural lighting from that day as the stores where wide open on the sidewalks of New Orleans.

Equipment

This was taken with a Sony A300 with a 28-300mm Tamron lens, no filters, flash or tripod.

Inspiration

My daughter and the way her eyes popped with the mask on.

Editing

I did do a little touch up with clarity and brought up the shadows.

In my camera bag

Back then that was all I had in my bad, now I have a Canon 70D, Nikon D7200 with various lenses

Feedback

Be mindful of the background, subject and lighting. I got lucky with this shot as I was a newbie :) But then again some times the best images were not always due to preparation.
