Location
This was taken on July 4th 2015, waiting for an incoming thunder storm to pass. I was waiting to watch the fireworks above the Flagstaff Country Club. It was very windy, but its always a rewarding hike during storms to the watch tower. I happened to be able to experience this sunset with my cellphone handy. The trail leads you up a staircase of petrified lava to the mountain's summit 2,300 feet above Flagstaff Arizona, near the top of the climb you'll walk through an area devastated by a huge wildfire in 1977, quite a few of the trees are still there and what made this shot for me.Time
SunsetLighting
I haven't edited this photo and I don't think it needs it. 100% mother nature. When there are clouds in Arizona its always an amazing show of light. I always take a 100 pictures and pick the best from the start of sunset to the last ray before dark.Equipment
A Samsung 4 cell phone, no flash.Inspiration
I saw the sunset developing and I enjoy capturing and sharing these moments. As well as keeping them as reminders of places or a specific time in my life. Living in Arizona, I realized how many people from all over the world travel to the states to visit what we all take for granted, since its in our back yard. But it offers so much to our country; low/ high desert, mountains with snow, canyons, petrified wood, volcanoes, waterfalls, and not to mention the wonders of Fossil Creek. I like to share my photos that help describe and bring wonder to others that have yet to experience what an incredible place Arizona is and has to offer.Editing
NoneIn my camera bag
I have a Canon Rebel but I typically only use it when I know a storm is coming through my area and have time to go find a spot to shoot. Mostly I rely on my iPhone.Feedback
Look for "bad" weather. My best photos are always caught during, monsoon, wind/dust storms, and dramatic unpleasant conditions. Always shoot for easy to see light. Try to capture what you find beautiful or interesting, and try not to second guess yourself. Sharing pictures as an amateur is about the experience and if you don't try, you'll never know. Cheers!
