Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo In Arizona In a river bed near my house. There were about 4-5 of these guy around and they had seen me coming there multiple times and just got used to me I guess, this one sat on a low branch and let me walk up to about 5 feet away from him to take this photo. I have been shooting since high school with 35mm but this was my first time shooting with a digital camera.

Time

I took this at about 3-4 in the afternoon, it was pretty warm out.

Lighting

This is done with all natural lighting. No reflectors or OCF.

Equipment

I shot this with my first digital camera which was a Panasonic Lumix.

Inspiration

I enjoy being outdoors and had never shot anything except landscapes and bugs.

Editing

I did do some light editing in Lightroom with this image but nothing to crazy mostly just adjusted the shadows and colors.

In my camera bag

Now I shoot with much more equipment and a much bigger camera but at the time my gear consisted of my camera, tripod, water, and a sidearm, (never know what you will run across in the desert and just having one on me has saved me a few times)

Feedback

PATIENCE!!! wildlife is very uncontrollable and it takes alot of time and patience to get good shots in nature. and try other things you might find you have a nack for other types of photography. it might not be what you set out to shoot but it might open your eyes to new things.
