This photo was taken while i was sitting in my car and waiting on a family member. I looked through the passenger sit window and right outside was the cluster of flowers. I used my telephoto lens hand held to capture this.Time
This was taken on a sunny afternoon around 3pm. It was a completely lucky shot i remember thinking afterward before previewing it that there was no way it would turn out. There was slight breeze and i figured i would have motion blur.Lighting
While framing this shot the flowers where moving and i was thinking i would have one or 2 in focus. Luck had it that this single flower decided to shine through.Equipment
This was shot with Canon t3 using a 70-300 kit zoom. This image is just one of those that proves you can truly capture a great image and not break the bank.Inspiration
For me it was the range of colors that where present in the flowers. This was a cluster of flowers in a bed in a parking lot. It was more the challenge of can i get just one flower in the frame and a wonderful blurred background.Editing
I am a firm believer in only showing what is captured through the lens. I don't have the fancy software to do post processing, nor would i like to use it. In many respects I fall back to the old days of film where you have to take your time to get the shot you want. This shot is a true JEPG out of the camera. In my camera bag
My bag has changed over the past year. I use a camera backpack which allows me to carry pretty much all i own. I have a Canon t3 and Canon m3. the following glass is what i now carry. 18-55mm EF-M 10-22mm Canon wide angle. 50mm 1.8 (fantastic plastic) and my only professional lens, 24-104mm F4L. I have a few ND filters and circular polarizes, extra batteries and perhaps a remote trigger.Feedback
I never in a million years would think i could offer advice on photography. My only advice is don't look for the one shot look things that often get overlooked and shoot that. This bed of flowers was in plan view in a parking lot that i am sure hundreds walked by everyday. For this flower it only took on person to single it out and allow it to truly be cherished! Images that capture that true moment in time are always the most special.
