Location
I took this photo at a carnival I went to with my daughter. We were riding on the Ferris Wheel and she was beyond giddy with excitement. She is one of my favorite subjects because she allows me to view the world through the eyes of a child.Time
This was shot during the late afternoon hours. It was a cloudy and overcast day so the sunlight was diffused well.Lighting
The day was overcast, providing a nice and natural diffusion to the sunlight.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D90 18-105mm lens. No additional equipment was utilized.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo by the excitement of my daughter's first time on a Ferris Wheel. I often have my camera with me to document the lives of my children, and I enjoy capturing their raw emotions.Editing
I did do some post processing. I changed the image from color to gray scale and then adjusted exposure levels to boost the contrast of the original image in PhotoShop. In my camera bag
I use my Nikon D90 and 18-105mm lens more than any other lens I have, but I do carry a 50mm and 85mm lens with me as well as lens filters. I also bring a remote shutter release and tripod just in case I need to take a shot with a slower shutter speed.Feedback
Live life and these sort of images will occur naturally. I rarely stage images, preferring to capture life as it happens.
