Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in St.Pauls University located in Limuru Kenya.

Time

I vividly remember that day i had taken so many shots and none that had come out as impressive until at around 6pm before sunset,i just had a camera i took that shot and it was just amazing. It put a smile on my face.

Lighting

Well i utilized natural light as you can see in the image,i wanted to bring out more of a sunset shot in between the buildings but it came out with the sun appearing more brighter than expected. Surprisingly it still looked beautiful. Natural lighting and flashlight used together the picture becomes over exposed therefore when it is sunny it is preferable to use natural light as opposed to flashlight or inbuilt light.

Equipment

This shot used Canon 5D Mark III lens 80mm,F22 and ISO 1600.I did not use any flash or tripod.

Inspiration

I love taking random shots during sunset but that day i had taken so many shots and none came out so well.Since the day was ending i wanted to bring out the best possible shot that would make my day.My passion to just take photos made me want to do, that last shot that came to mind that day.

Editing

No i did not use any post-processing on this photo.

In my camera bag

I usually carry a flashlight,of course camera my own camera is a Nikon D3200 with 18-55mm and a wide angle macro lens of 0.45 *52mm.I carry also a charger in case the battery goes off.Other than that i carry lens cloth that can wipe off dust in case of any that appears during my shoots.

Feedback

The best way to do sunset shots are when the aperture is F/22,this ensures that the visibility of the sun rays are easily noticed and bring out a more vibrant shot of a picture.Ensure that the white balance is set on daylight setting or cloudy,do not settle on one shot take as many shots as possible with altering settings in the DSLR this helps in knowing which shot will be appropriate.
