With the natural light coming from behind Sammy, my grand daughter, she was back lit perfectly I feel.Equipment

Sammy was just learning to walk and climb and had just gotten herself up on the couch next to me when I took the photo. We had our family over for lunch that day and had my camera sitting next to the couch so it was very easy to grab the shot.Editing

Try to capture portraits in natural light when ever possible. I like mid morning light and also late afternoon light the best in particular when I can have a well lit location with back lighting like this shot. It also really helps to have a beautiful model like I did with my grand daughter Samantha!
