Location
This photo was taken at the Broxton Bridge Civil War reenactment near Ehrhardt SC. My son in law knew one of the actors so we drove out to watch. It definitely was worth it.Time
Taken at mid morning. Lasted about two hours.Lighting
It was an overcast day with light rain just as it finished so the diffused light was good.Equipment
I used my Canon 5D with an IS 70-200 Canon lenseInspiration
It was very exciting and loud. Cannons and muzzle loaders going off constantly. The horses didn't seem to notice but this horse spooked and I captured it. The costumes noise and seriousness made it very realistic. A very sombering event. You felt like a witness to history.Editing
I changed the green leaves to autumn using Nik and contrastIn my camera bag
My camera and three lenses. Plus on camera flash and diffuser.Feedback
I always use multiple shots and watch the ISO to capture motion. One of my favorite to shoot is stop action. I love horse racing and used to shoot chariot racing.
