Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the Mira River in Cape Breton when we were on vacation there visiting dear friends.

Time

It was in the afternoon as the sun was starting to go down.

Lighting

The sun was shining lower on the horizon, I was trying to get a photo of him actually facing to the right to get better lighting on his face, but he decided he would only show me this side of his face. He looked right at me at one point but when I looked at the photo, he was blinking in the shot and it looked a little creepy.

Equipment

I was using a new camera that I had purchased for this trip. It's a super zoom bridge camera, a Nikon P530. I love this camera.

Inspiration

I had been taking photos of the two bald eagles that reside in a tree on the water's edge. The weather had been somewhat drizzly and the moisture in the air was dimming the other images until this day.

Editing

I did not do any post processing.

In my camera bag

In my bag, I carry my camera, and extra SD card and a charging cable. It's a small bag hopefully encouraging me to take it where ever I go all the time because it'snot too cumbersome.

Feedback

Always have your camera with you. You never know when you'll see something you want to capture on film.
