Location
Servile Spain in Spring of 2012.Time
Although it was about 11:00 am, sky was overcast. So, while most anything have to do with sky was just dead.Lighting
Although it was overcast, it seemed to vibrance of tile and brick colors were strong, I thought. So I set camera setting on "very vivid". That was great to achieve the saturation needed.Equipment
Nikon D80, with 18 to 200mm lens. Hand held so to quickly take advantage of any changing conditions.Inspiration
This subject seemed to just jumbo in my face. Both the colors, the gracefulness of design, and twin bridges. Seemed to be a shot that needed to be taken, if only for my memories of uniqueness.Editing
Yes, I used Photoshop Elements to crop, and optimize colors. The ability to increase/decrease brightness, and shadows helped with lightening of reflection and saturation of colors. In my camera bag
Travel light as possible when out of the US. carried only the 18 to 200 lens. Do carry polarizer, enhancement, and diffusing filters. two spare batteries, charger, and a compass. Had my Tripod shipped in advance to avoid airport hassles.Feedback
I love going someplace I've never been before. There is really little substitute for "fresh eyes". I always remember the advice of a WWII fighter pilot….."keep your head on a swivel". The best shot may be behind you, or to the left or right a little. Does this composition need anything I might find to help? Most times will wander around a corner, down an alley, or climb some of steps. Always asking myself…is there a better way to shot this I haven't already considered….. be curious!
