Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at my house . I grow swan plants so the monarch butterfly comes to me

Time

it was taken about midday

Lighting

Because the butterfly was sitting on a pot plant and was strengthening its wings up at the time I could place it where the best light was also put a back ground sheet behind it

Equipment

My camera is a Sony a77 lens 2.8/16-50 ssm and i used a tripod

Inspiration

I grow swan plants to attract the butterfly's and they lay there eggs on the plant . When the butterfly first comes out of the Chrysalis it needs to dry its wings and build up the strength to fly it takes about a hour or two . It had dropped onto the flowering pot plant so I could pick up the pot and take it where I could get the best shot . The butterfly happily sets on the flower why you take its photo. If you do this please take your time in moving the butterfly so you don't course it to stress

Editing

No

In my camera bag

At the time I took this photo I only had 2 lens and a tripod

Feedback

Grow Swan plants and wait and watch
