Location
I live and Brampton Ontario Canada and regularly go for drives in the country side outside of the city. There are a lot of horse farms in the area and this was taken on the roadside of one of those farms, just outside of the city.Time
This photo was taken late afternoon to early evening in June 2013. You get a nice warm light as they day ends and this is one of my favourite times of day to go for a drive.Lighting
The lighting is all natural. The sun was getting lower in the sky and was above and to the left of the scene.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon Rebel T3 with the EF-S 55-250.Inspiration
The simple reality is I often go for drives, and had just purchased the 55-250 and wanted to get out and try it. This was one of the first shots I took with it.Editing
I had only had my camera for 2 months when I took this and really knew nothing about processing. This would have been opened into Canon's RAW converter, warmed up a tiny bit then put into Elements 6 (all I had) where I would have done a slight levels correction as that is all I knew how to do.In my camera bag
I always carry my Rebel T3. My lens selection is currently a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 and the Canon EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM. I have a Yongnuo YN-460 speedlight with Yongnuo triggers and a selection of reflectors. I also carry a Cameron tripod.Feedback
My advice for capturing something similar is simply to get out and explore the countryside at the ends of the day. You never know what you might come across while out there and with the light in either the morning or evening as good as it is you can usually find something to shoot, just get out there and do it.
