Location
I took this photo in a local conservatory.Time
This was taken in the afternoon in NovemberLighting
There was a bit of light making it through the other plants hitting this flower which is at the back of the conservatory and usually doesn't get much light.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Canon Rebel T3 and a 70-200 f/2.8L lens. No flash was used, it was shot hand held.Inspiration
I really liked the way the purple just jumped out with the bit of light that was hitting it and nothing else around it.Editing
Processing would involve just boosting the saturation a little and some levels adjustments finishing with a tiny bit of sharpeningIn my camera bag
I now shoot with a Canon 7D and I have a 50mm f/1.8, a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and a Canon 70-200 f/2.8. I also have a couple Yongnou flashes and triggers, reflectors, a small soft box, a DCR-250 and a few flashlights. I also carry the usual mix of knives and muliti-tools.Feedback
The advice is simple, take your time walking around and look for things that catch your eye. Make sure you get the shot quick because the light that caught your eye may be gone in seconds.
