Behind The Lens

Location

During our winter vacation in South Africa in Dec2007-Jan2008 we were here in Bird Island in Lambert’s Bay on the Cape’s West Coast Here the blue-eyed Cape gannet brid

Time

Here is early afternoon. The photo was taken with a simple Canon camera It is one of my favorite not only because Birds island is one of six places in the world where you can see Cape gannet so close and so numerous, but also because it represents variety in Nature. Notice two of the chicks that are different

the rarity of the beautiful Cape Gannets and the few differnts amongst the so many equals

1) Canon 450D with canon lens 18-55 mm 1.3 and a Canon zoom lens 55-250 mm both with UV filters 2) my iphone 6S

Be cautious and quiet so not to disturb the wilde animals Remeber are your eyes that make the photograph, not the camera Think About Your Subject Before You Begin Shooting Think of how the photograph will come before shooting Be inspired, "If you can shoot well, all you need is a disposable, toy camera or a camera phone to create great work. If you're not talented, it doesn't matter if you buy a Nikon D3X or Leica; your work will still be uninspired." (Ken Rockwell)
