Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Myrtle Beach S.C. I’m not quite sure why but I have always loved the sun over the water. The way the light dances on the water brings me peace.

Time

The photo was taken in early November just at sun set (around 6-630 pm. It was a cold winters day. I recall it snowing that day. The wind coming off the water was very strong.

Lighting

I really wanted you to see the colors of the sun and how the light hits the water and dances on the waves. The light was all natural in the photo.

Equipment

My equipment consisted of a Canon power shot camera. On its first out of the box test run using a Canon power shot I was able to capture the beauty of nature, the power of the sun and the calming of the sea.

Inspiration

I guess history has always been my inspiration. When most people drive down the road they look around and only see woods or water. When I drive down the road I look at the brush and wonder how did the revolutionary soldiers walk through all that brush. When I look at the water I think to myself I can see why people thought the world was flat. I can also see what the attraction for sailors was to the sea.

Editing

No special processing occurred.

In my camera bag

In my bag at home I keep a Canon 35 mm camera and a Canon T7 camera. However when on vacation I take a small camera like Canon power shot. It’s much easier to carry for long distance walks on the beach or on vacation.

Feedback

Look for what makes you happy. The most important thing is have fun doing it. My love has always been water. I could look at the water everyday and see something new and exciting. Nothing makes me happier than the beauty of nature. I am the person that stops to smell the roses. Remember that early morning and late evening has the best light with the best colors. Be happy and have fun.
