This photo was taken in Kenya whilst on Safari. I was very lucky to photograph this Leopard as I just managed to spot him hiding under the bushes.Time
We were waking up most days early at around 5am. I really wanted to capture the Leopards in their active time, but that wasn't until nightfall and we weren't allowed to be out after dark in the Masai Mara. Luckily I managed to capture this shot during the hot time of the day when they are usually sleeping and the sun is high in the sky.Lighting
I was hoping to get sun-rays through the trees and make the scene more dramatic, unfortunately the light was a little bit flat, I still feel that I managed to get enough contrast.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7000 and a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 I also had my jacket on top of the Land Rover to use as a beanbag and stable the camera.Inspiration
Well, everything around me was inspirational, but I think I was just lucky to be there in that moment.Editing
I usually do some cropping, levels and colour balance, but this image is almost natural. In my camera bag
Right now I have got a Nikon D3X and a D700 aNikon 50mm f1.8- Nikon 24-70mm f2.8- Tokina 16-24mm f2.8 a Nikon SB-910 flash a small manfrotto tripod and a couple of filtersFeedback
Keep your camera out of the bag, be ready to shoot and always look back. I also like to visit the same place at different times of the day,
