It Begins

My husband & I were with our guide and had been watching a pride of lions for over an hour or more when suddenly there was a commotion way ahead. We had only one full day in the Crater and we decided to continue to see what was happening. It seems that this buffalo and her calf had been charging a lion and we got there just as this lion got on her back. The calf was killed immediately by another lion and had been dragged off into bushes - this one lion got her down, the other joined in and took about 30mins or so for her to finally die - it was not something I enjoyed, as the screams from the buffalo and the struggle she put up was tragic, but that's life in the wild.
