Great art! If I wanted to learn how to do this, what would be the type of instruction be. I have a couple of books on photoshop, but what would I be looking for in the index?

Location
This photo was created from a couple images. The macro shot of the eye was taken on my property in Indiana. The birds I used on the eye lashes were taken at the Louisville Zoo in Kentucky.Time
Both shots used to create this image were taken in the early afternoon. Both were taken on sunny days..Lighting
When taking the macro shot of the eye, I placed the subject under the shade of a giant Catalpa tree. I wanted to subject not to squint so I could get the full detail of the iris.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens. I use a tripod and no other equipment.Inspiration
I have always enjoyed the human eye up close. I usually try to capture the eye of most of my photography subjects.Editing
One of my favorite parts of photography is playing with my imagination. Nothing fulfills this desire more than creating photo art. This photo was manipulated to combine the macro shot of the eye with the birds to create a magical perspective. The birds were edited to give them a better color scheme. The macro eye was only edited slightly to smooth the whites of the eyes for a softer look.In my camera bag
I usually carry my camera and both of my prime lenses. I love my prime lenses more than any other lens I have. I just love the clarity you can get using the prime lens.Feedback
I love using my macro lens for close up shots. I tend to use prime lenses for this to get that super crisp detail. Take your time and a tripod always helps. Side note, if you have image stabilization, turn it off for tripod shots.
