Location
This photo of our dog was taken along a fence, down the road from our house. It was a really narrow patch of flowers that no one would fit in except our dauchaund.Time
I waited for the evening to come around before I took him down to the flowers! The evening sunlight was so beautiful!!Lighting
The sunlight came from behind me. We live in a flat wooded area, so sometimes the evening light is hard to get since the best light hides behind the trees. Thankfully the area is a little more open & the evening light was strong without a cloud in the sky.Equipment
I used my Canon 6D & my 100mm macroInspiration
The inspiration for this photo was the vibrant flowers rambling along the ground by the fence. During the week, that the flowers bloomed, I had drilled my brain about how to take pictures with them. The flowers were only about 3-4 inches tall, so a person as the subject would not work!Editing
All my post processing was done in Lightroom. In my camera bag
My bag usually contains my Canon 6D, my canon lenses (100mm, 35mm, 24-105mm, & 70-200mm). I also use two speedlites (430exII & 600ex-rt). I also carry tons of batteries & cards, along w/ my Gary Fong diffuser.Feedback
My advice for an image like this is to scout a perfect location, wait for the best light, & bring a squeaky toy ;)
