Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Reno Balloon Races that happen in the beginning of September every year.

Time

This amazing shot was taken during The Dawn Patrol that takes place around 5am.

Lighting

I wanted this photo to have all natural lighting & I adjusted my ISO to get the perfect shot.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D800 with the 70/300 lense.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the colours and the beauty of the darkness & the single light that came from the fire within the balloon.

Editing

I touched up the colours to enhance light of the fire.

In my camera bag

I have my Nikon D800 with my 70/300mm & 25mm lenses along with extra batteries.

Feedback

The lighting has to be perfect so timing of a photo shoot is very important. I was 30 mins early to dawn patrol to make sure I would get the perfect picture. I also encourage trying different angles when capturing your subjects. This will allow the photographer to see the perspective from different angles and it can change the subject dramatically. Having a great attitude that includes patience, lots of smiles & laughs and being friendly/kind to others that are around you during your shoot.
