The colors are very calming and crisp. I feel like I am in there swimming with the fish. Outstanding photo.

Location
This photo was taken inside the saltwater tank inside my home. The hammer coral closes to a much smaller size when the light in the tank is off. The entire coral is actually the size of a small plum but appears much larger in the photo due to the macro lens used.Time
The lights on the tank are set for 3 pm and this was taken during that time. The black background was added in Photoshop post- developing to highlight the bright colors.Lighting
The lighting on the take is designed for high Ight inc coral and fish colors. Both respond more actively when the lights are onEquipment
A Nikon d600 and flash was used. I used the Nikon 105mm macro lens. The flash area was cropped post processing. I should have used a tripod to prevent the little bit of blurInspiration
I love the ocean and have always enjoyed the serenity of watching a fish tank. The saltwater tank combines my love of gardening and fish watching since the coral has growth and blooming periods also.Editing
I increased the contrast and saturation in LR. I then erased the background and made a black layer. In my camera bag
I always have the Nikon d600 and recently added the D750. I keep the 24mm to 125mm usually on the camera. I just purchased the Nikon 14 to 24mm lens and the nifty 50 is always great to have.Feedback
I would recommend the use of a tripod to prevent blur. Shooting through glass can be tricky and manual focus is the only way to ensure sharper focus. I should have increased the ISO to try to prevent flash use also.
