Location
I took this photo up in Mount Madonna County Park in the Santa Cruz mountains, CaliforniaTime
Right around 11am, wasn't looking at my watch!Lighting
It was a mix of light fog and clouds so the lighting was spotty, dark down low and blown out up top!Equipment
Canon T3i, Bower 8mm fish eye, sticks and leaves to lay on- highly technical stuff.Inspiration
Originally I was looking to get the squirrels jumping from tree to tree but changed to a fish eye while laying down and saw this while looking up, loved the perspective of this as it gives you the feeling of how tall these trees are.Editing
Post-process was to only ad my watermark at the bottom. In my camera bag
Canon T3i, 1D X, 8mm fish eye, 70-200mm F4L IS USM, 70-300mm, 18-55 (everyone has a couple), EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM, Misc. Filters, MeFOTO Road Trip tripod, GoPro 4 Black, GoPro 3 Black x2Feedback
Take your time and expect the unexpected. I did not plan for or set up this shot, I took just one picture and was upset at the fact I did not see one squirrel that day. I have learned to pay more attention to the natural lighting around you and use it to your advantage. Your not limited to just one shot, play around with your settings and you will end up with something you will be proud of. One of the first things I learned was take just one picture, review it, now take 10 more. over time you will know your settings before you know you took the shot.
