Location
This old plantation on Edisto Island was a gift from the Margaret Pepper family and was granted to the State of South Carolina in 1977 by Mr. Pepper. His wish was only able to be used after his wife passed away so she would have the opportunity to continue her years on the land she so loved. Now a Wildlife Management Area operated by South Carolina's Department of Natural Resources, is open to the public and continues to thrill your adventurous side as you experience an unspoiled land... Going to Botany Bay Plantation provides you with an opportunity to step back in time and fall in love with the beauty of the Carloina's "Lowcounty".Time
Morning soft light. I waited until leaving the beach just after sunrise to photograph this tree road. By doing this, I hoped to avoid bright spots of sun and preserve the even, latent light.Lighting
I wanted to stay away from "Hot Spots" of light from bight sunlight so early morning gave me perfect light.Equipment
Sony A77 on this shot. Benro Tripod Sony 24-105.Inspiration
Loved the long shot with the trees lining the road! Wanderland was captured, it seems, in a dream-like fairytale setting. This is a road that leads into the Botany Bay Plantation, South Carolina. And it really looks like this! You have to pinch yourself to make sure you did not fall into an Alice in Wonderland book!Editing

This is a great "lines" composition. These make for strong subjects and create a sense of "follow me" and 3D.
