Location
The photo was taken in my hometown Tomesti, Romania. I was heading to one of the anual symphonic concerts inside a cave near town when I saw the dew glowing in the light of the sun.Time
Even if it's possible to reach by car near cave, every year I walk an hour from town to the cave on the same country road that I went for the first time with my father 30 years ago. I allways arrive early to capture also the atmosphere before the event. It was around 10 AM when I stoped for a cup of water and I sat down for a while. It was this moment when I saw the beauty of the glowing dew.Lighting
I possitioned myself contre jour at the ground level and the sun did all that was needed for the lighting.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D90, with an Sigma 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
I sat for a while next to the road and the dew was glowing all around me under the sunlight. It felt like in a beautiful dream and I decided to get on the ground level and capture this moment.Editing
I can't remember wery well, because this was shot 4 yers ago. But at that time I didn't do so much post-processing as I do in the present. I think it was just a little exposure correction to the RAW file.In my camera bag
I'm normally a sport photographer (especialy racing) and I allways have in my bag a 70-300mm lens which in the past was a Sigma and now it is a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di USD. Then I have a Nikon D7100 body, Nikon D90 body and a Nikon AF-S 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lense for the occasions when I'm close to the subject. Also, for the darker areas of the racing line I always have in my bag a Nissin di622 flash.Feedback
This kind of shots can be taken in the chilly autumn mornings when the dew on the grass is consistent, after the sunrise. It is very important to have a clean sky, without clouds and for the maximmum effect you need to shoot from the ground level. With or without tripod, as it fits best for you. But be carefull ... the beauty of this momments can make you dream and forget the reason why you are there. :)
