Behind The Lens
Location
The photograph was taken at Kilpeck Chruch, between Abergavenny and HerefordTime
This hot was taken during the afternoon, whilst on a trip out for the day with my wifeLighting
Due to it being an afternoon shot, the light was quite bright, so controlling the lights and darks was essentialEquipment
It was taken using my tripod and my Nikon D7000 and 18-200mm lensInspiration
I decided to take this photograph as I was looking for images that may contribute to the panel of images that I was putting together for my AWPF application (Associateship of the Welsh Photographic Federation)Editing
To ensure that I managed to get the darks and lights, I took several images at different exposures and blended them to get the image as I wanted it.In my camera bag
I don't have masses of equipment, I have a Manfrotto 055, Pro 4 tripod and pro 3 tilt and pan head, 2 Nikon Cameras, (D7000 and D7100), 18-200mm Nikkor zoom lens, Tokina 11-16, f2.8 wide angle, 50mm f1,4 and a 40mm macro lens. I also have a Lee little stopper, big stopper and a set of soft grads and ND filters. I also carry my 105mm poleriserFeedback
When taking an image of this type, it's important to consider the lighting conditions, time of day and direction of light. Taking a multi exposure image may be the only option if the lighting is too harsh
