Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken down in Newquay in Cornwall just by the harbour, it's the only house on the rock.

Time

It was taken at midday just as the clouds started to roll in and the tide was going out.

Lighting

I wanted to try and make the house stand out from the sea, a few hours later the sun would have been setting behind it but the clouds were still there.

Equipment

This was a hand held shot with a Samsung s4 phone.

Inspiration

What inspired me to take this shot was that on any beach in the UK you have sand, rocks and Peebles but this is the first time I have seen a house on a rock on a beach.

Editing

I darkened the cloud a bit just to give it a bit of mood.

In my camera bag

Always my phone which is a camera, and editing machine all in one. But when on holiday I have a Canon 350 with a few lens just to get some shots that the phone can't.

Feedback

Down in Cornwall you can have all 4 seasons in one day, the same place could look totally different hour by hour. It's always worth going back at different times just to see how one shot could look so different .
