Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo at cape cod. I stayed there for about a week and every every evening when I went for a little walk after dinner, this gorgeous sunset would light up the bit of land upon the horizon. I thought to myself it would be great to capture this scenery and have fun with it on photoshop.Time
This shot was taken between 6-7pm in August.Lighting
The lighting was all natural. The sun was perfectly dimmed and lite up the land like a burning yellow light bulb sinking into the nightEquipment
The shot was taken with a Nikon D750 with 50mm f/1.8 lens.Inspiration
Every evening I would imagine this sunset setting itself behind NYC with the twilight taking over the sky and the stars sparkling right behind. My imagination took over this scene and I wanted it to make it a reality instead of it being just a picture in my mind.Editing
This shot was taken as a jpeg. I did a lot of work on photoshop with this image. Added a oil painting filter, added another image of NYC on the horizon, with a blend of another image of the stars. I then used the blend brush on photoshop the blended most of the colors and smooth them out. I wanted to give it a smooth transition flow feel to the image. In my camera bag
I usually carry just my Nikon camera and two lens with a separate flash. Two lens for in case I need close intimidate shots of a subject or if I want to zoom in from afar.Feedback
Always have your camera with you. I always have my camera on me everywhere I go. I'm always thinking like a filmmaker or a photographer. It's like my professor once said during the first day of film class, "you will never see film and the scenery in front of your eyes the same ever again. You will think of composition, lighting, angles, along with your imagination taking you away into this creative world we have in our minds". To this day that statement holds truth. Everything in front of me is a shot. If it's a scene that moves me in a certain way emotionally, im capturing it. Sometimes capturing it and adding more to it will complete your artistic view of your creative world.
