Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this at Treasure Island, Florida

Time

I shot this photo right before sunset at about 8:30 PM in August 2012

Lighting

The sun was setting and the light reflecting under the clouds lit everything up orange. It was very a unusual scene.

Equipment

I shot with a Sony NEX-7 camera with a E18-55MM F3.5-5.6OSS lens at 44MM, 1/500, f/8, ISO 800, no flash, aperture priority, pattern metering

Inspiration

The lighting was very unusual as everything around me lit up orange under the clouds. The lone heron out in the water made everything look so serene and surreal.

Editing

Everything in this camera was as shot. It did process in Adobe photoshop but made no adjustments.

In my camera bag

Besides my camera which is now a Sony A7rmkII, I have a 200 mm telephoto, a macro, and a 24-85mm mid range. I also carry a range of filters like a polarizer and a neutral density, extra batteries and that’s it.
