Location
I was in Sydney doing some underwater welding at the OPT (Overseas Passenger Terminal). We had a very early start to avoid traffic from the rush of peak-hour on the water. I always carry my camera with me and when we got delayed to start the job, I couldn't resist getting it out to capture this.Time
It was around 6:10am in the morning.Lighting
The rays of light shooting up from behind the Opera House were to irresistible to not try and capture.Equipment
Canon 7D, 17~40 f4 lens. I didn't have my tripod with me on the day but I did have my Manfrotto QR mount on the camera which is quite long, this gave me a great sturdy base to steady the camera.Inspiration
The iconic Sydney Opera House and the rays of light were to irresistible.....Editing
This is a three shot HDR put together with Photomatix Pro and some basic editing in PS CS6In my camera bag
Canon 70~200 f2.8, Canon 24~105 f4, Canon Speedlight 550EX, Manfrotto-MT190CXPRO4-190-Carbon-Fibre tripod, spare batteries, Intervalometer, torch, Cleaning gear etc etc.Feedback
Check times for sun rise/set etc and get there earlier to set up. Also, make sure your equipment is ready to go.
