Behind The Lens

Location

It was in the bathroom, the shower to be precisely

Time

I think this was about 3 pm. the sun would be away from the window, but there was just enough light for this scene.

Lighting

The picure needed to show the right emotion, so I choose lowlight with just a few hightlights for a more dramatic look

Equipment

I worked with a Nikon D3300, 50mm 1.8 lens. and a self-fabricated tripod of little baskets. At this point I didn't own a trigger so i used the timer. No other equipment was used

Inspiration

I was in a low point at my life, sick and lost a lot of weight, this was a way to deal with how I felt at the time.

Editing

Obviously I made it black and white, also added bits of contrast and blurred bottom side of the picture.

In my camera bag

My camera(obviously), a 50mm 1.8 and a 18-105 lens, a reflector, an extra battery and SD card (these can really save your life) and my video led light. Oh and not to forget: something to eat!

Feedback

I do think, if you want to capture emotions you need to be familiar with the specific emotion, always photograph close to your heart
