I just love Antelope Canyon! Great shot. You caught the light perfectly. What time of year did you go?

The time window to view the surrealistic sun ray falling in the canyon like a light beam is very narrow.Equipment

Antelope is magical, its beautiful, vibrant, surreal, mother nature's wonderful creation. It was in my wish list for a long time. When I planned my southwest trip (3 states in 6 days Arizona, Utah, Colorado) the first thing I reserved was this photography tour and then planned my itinerary around it. It was that important for me.Editing
As a matter of fact, this image was one of my very few first single exposure HDRIn my camera bag
My current setup: Nikon D7100, Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DG HSM Lens, Tamron 18-270mm PZD, a carbon fiber tripod, Tiffen 62mm Circular Polarizer, Hoya 62mm Neutral Density, cable release, remote shutter, lens and camera cleaning kitFeedback
Although Antelope Canyon is a photographer's dream location, the ambiance can be intimidating & difficult, as the time window of capturing sun rays is very small, the place is narrow, dusty, very dark and extremely crowded. So there will not be many chances of trial and error to get a perfect shot. The gear, the composition all needs to be properly pre-planned and setup in advance. A wide angle lens & a tripod is an absolute must.Take the photographer's tour to spend the maximum time there and look all around & up, and work with your guide, they are trained to show you the best spots and keeping people out of your frame.
