Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph whist out walking. I approached the deer through trees and took this though a gap in the branches. Despite all my precautions he'd clearly spotted me but was not too bothered, I think in part due to the heat.

Time

Early-mid afternoon.

Lighting

Sunny afternoon with cloudy sky. This shot was taken as a cloud past over, taking the edge off otherwise harsh light.

Equipment

Nikon D700, Nikon 70-200mm F/2.8 AF-S VRII with Nikon Nikon TC-20E AF-S teleconverter.

Inspiration

I'd gone out to photograph deer that day but was not having much luck. On my way back to my car I spotted this chap in a clearing.

Editing

Convert from RAW, small crop, contrast and colour adjustment and addition of a subtle vignette.

Nikon D800, Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 VC USD, Nikon 70-200mm F/2.8 AF-S VRII, Nikon TC-20E AF-S, SB900.
