Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the Museu marítimo de Ilhavo. (N 40º 36’ 16.11’’ | O 08º 39’ 57.65’’)

Time

The time of the day is not important in this photo because it was taken indoors. But the time was 13h:47m.

Lighting

I couldn´t take control on lighting. The shell was protected inside a stand, with a glass between me and the shell.

Equipment

This was shot with my Conon 600D and the EF-S 18-55 mm lens. No flash or tripod used.

Inspiration

I just liked this shell and I usually dont have the chance to see this kind of shells.

Editing

I did some basic post-processing. Highlights, shadows, whites and blacks. I also removed a little spot.

In my camera bag

I usually carry my Canon 600D camera, with the 50mm 1.8, 18-55mm, 55-250mm and 24-70mm f.4 L lenses. I also carry two full charged batteries and sometimes a tripod. Some other essential two or three SD cards.

Feedback

If you have a shaking hand you might have to use a tripod. If not using a filter to remove any relfexion, that was my case, get colse as you can to the glass that protects the exibition.
