To take something normally prized for its colour and give it value and purpose in its form and light is indeed extravagant art. Brilliant execution with this photo!

Location
This photo was shot in my in house studio.Time
This was shot one evening at home.Lighting
Shot with 2 strobe lights, one light on right side of flowers and the other next to camera.Equipment
Shot with Canon 40D with 28-135mm at 85mm. Camera on tripod with remote trigger.Inspiration
Tulips are one of my favorite flowers and was wanting to work on my lighting skills. So it was an evening of experimenting and play.Editing
Made contrast adjustments and then converted to black and white. In my camera bag
My camera bag consists of Canon 7D and Canon 70-200mm lens with a 2x extender and my Canon 28-135mm lens. Also always carry a back up battery and CF cards.Feedback
When I am looking at flowers in a flower shop to photograph, I make sure to check the flowers for flaws and find the bouquet with the fewest flaws. I love to experiment so play and have fun.
