Thank you. I just tried to save what could be saved. Background of this photo was really bad, so I tried to change it, and after I finished I got scared that I went too far with photomanipulation. I am happy that you like it. :D

Location
The photo is taken in a small place called Kukuljani, that is located near Rijeka in Croatia.Time
Those years I had a habit to wake early on weekends and then go to cycle through Bear's Wood up in the mountains. And every weekend I would end up seeing really beautiful things. Image of this working horse is taken afternoon, while I was cycling back home.Lighting
Since it was autumn, I wanted to capture his fur color, which I think is amazing. And since Autumn is mostly cloudy so there was a lot of soft light on everything, I just loved how his front body moves out of shadow toward the back that with soft light creates that fluffy fur feel. His fur was actually very sharp on touch.Equipment

Usually while I cycle when I finish my "training" part, I start relaxing and go for joy ride around the county before hitting home. And during those times I try to involve myself as much as possible in everything around me. And when I saw this guy in the field I just wanted to try to pet him. It passed a lot of time when I did pet a horse. I stayed for an hour sitting near him and just enjoying the view on village, after which I decided to take a picture of him before I left. I usually get attracted by colors and faces, and this horse was muscular as hell but so cute. I love cute things.Editing
Yes. Behind him there was a lot of bushes without leaves which destroyed the photo. It looked just bad. So I removed it and with blending two of other photos I created a background. it is not perfect but at least it gives a feeling of hills and forests in the background. I know that I did overdo a little bit color of the grass, but I felt like, that neon looking grass could make colors of the horse more interesting. I like how colors mix on that photo. I also did add filtered overlaps and layers on top to tone down a little bit background and horse. Horse had like really red-ish colored fur that was taking too much of the focus. In my camera bag
Those years I cycled with wide angle and tele lenses, macro lense and battery pack.Feedback
I think it is good to have a personal photo diary. Then you can for example set a few goals you want to find with your camera and capture. My problem is that when I find my scene, I usually want to hang out with the animal or people or just enjoy the environment, so I always take photos only the moment I am about to leave. And almost always during that time all conditions become hard to overcome, so it is kin of a challenge every time. Look for unusual stuff, and don't get discouraged if scene is not right, when you get home you can practice your editing skills and try to save image so that next time when similar scene happens you are not discouraged to take the photo.
