Hi Dan, another great capture from you. Just as a thought, if you have the chance to go back to this spot, have you thought of say a 3 minute plus exposure with an ND filter and then changing it to black and white? Because this looks like a stunning place to get creative. If you do they would look great in your gallery as well, all the best Lincoln:)

Hi Lincoln, Thanks for the suggestion. I have been back to the same spot many times. Its like a magnet. I do have a long exposure image in B&W from a different viewing angle, in my gallery. Its difficult to get this close for a long time. Usually many other photographers :( I'll keep trying. :) Thanks Dan

Location
I took this photo at Dicky Beach on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland AustraliaTime
It was early in the morning, not long after sunrise.Lighting
Mother nature made the morning dark. I had gone down to this spot to see if I could get some color at sunrise. This was about the best of the sun that morningEquipment
This was shot with a Sony A580 and a Tokina 11-16 ultrawide. No tripod or any other gear except me trying to not drop the camera and to make sure the surf didn't hit it either. The camera was set to 7 fps and I just took as many frames as possible without getting it to wet.Inspiration
I have been down and photographed this wreck many times. In good light and worse than this. It keeps me and many other photographers busy. It6s a local favorite and I have seen many shots of the same location across Viewbug.Editing
A little lightening of the wave and darkening of the cloud and a light vignette. The blurring was the motion of the wave coming towards the camera. In my camera bag
I have been shooting Sony for a long time. I now carry a A77, A57 and way to many lenses ranging from a 8mm Samyang fisheye to an old Tokina 300 2.8 to a Sigma Bigma and most of in between. I have an understanding darling wife who knows of my strange gear hording habit, but still loves me :)Feedback
I had gone to bed the night before with a defined image I was going to try to capture. It was not what I got. The weather has changed totally over the night and what I awoke to was not What I wanted. Thankfully, most of the other photographers had also woken to the same bleak day. I got up and carried on. The place was deserted and it allowed me to get up close to the wreck without annoying any other photographer. I have been to the same place and had 12 or more people trying to get shots. Don't roll over and sleep in or not head out to try to capture something, because of something out of your control. Give it a go and make the most of it. Enjoy the experience and you may get some great shots. Enjoy the experience :)
