I captured this frame at Qutub Minar, Delhi, India. This is one of the several ruins of old castle around the Qutub complex; One of my attempts on leading lines framing.Time
It was a very cozy morning of December 2012 and I was fully charged up with my photo club team NCR Photography Club (formerly Noida Photography Club) to capture the monument. Once I had several shot of Qutub Minar, I saw this ruin which was looking very attractive with the lined up pillars.Lighting
There are two important aspects in this frame with regards to lighting; one is the natural light falling on pillars creating many shades and other is, I took this in HDR mode. This has created extra illumination in the picture. I found such an angle of view to capture that I get many shades of light on the picture along with the leading line affect.Equipment
I used my very basic gears Canon 600D on 18-55mm lens to capture this frame. Usually I also carry a sturdy tripod and my telephoto Tamron lens (70-300) mm.Inspiration
Typically our main subject was the Qutub Minar to capture, however this ruin around the Qutub complex attracted me for its leading line effect and beautiful engraved texture over the pillars/wall. On top of it, many shades of light in the morning made it more dramatic.Editing
Yes, I merged the 3 pictures taken in HDR mode with 3 different exposure settings; I did little bit settings on contrast and brightness to enhance the illumination. In my camera bag
Usually I carry my Canon 600D with basic 18-55 mm kit lens, a sturdy tripod and my telephoto Tamron lens (70-300) mm. I also keep camera and lens cleaning kit with me along with lens hoods.Feedback
As I explained above, I suggest to find such a time of the day (typically morning or evening to get the soft light and shades on the pillars, and took that in HDR mode to enhance the luminosity in the picture; Additionally, make sure to capture leading lines with the deep depth.
