Very nice! And the photographer too, very patiently waiting for this perfect shot! :)

Thanks for your kind comments.
The fisherman was the patient one. I was an opportunist :) just had to wait for the birds and boats to clear and be quick before the sun sank too low. I'm glad others enjoy this image too.

Location
I was on holidays at Windang, south of Sydney, where our cabin overlooked this river.Time
We were sitting on the verandah with friends enjoying the late summer afternoon when we noticed this gorgeous sunset. I jumped up, grabbed my camera and literally ran as the sun quickly set, trying to position myself to get the best composition.Lighting
Sunset is a gorgeous time for photos. Just have to be ready to move - not much time to waste. Minutes after this shot was taken, it was all over.Equipment
I only own one camera - my trusty Canon EOS Kiss x2. No time for tripod on this shot. No flash.Inspiration
The sunset over the layered hills was hard to resist. The fisherman waiting patiently was a great bonus. I love how he is both silhouetted against the water and reflected in it. I have other shots of this scene with him off centre, but the symmetry of this scene really appeals to me.Editing
There was a boat in the picture. Some judicious clone stamping sorted that out.In my camera bag
Not a lot. My camera with the standard 18-55mm lens, a 55-250mm lens for getting close to things far away, and some extension tubes because I can't afford a macro lens but I'm in love with close ups of flowers.Feedback
Have your camera with you. Keep your photography eyes open at all times. Be curious how something will look in a photo. If you're not sure, take a photo anyway. Don't not take a photo because you think you can come back later and get it. You will never see it again like that, and you will always remember the photo you should have taken.
