Behind The Lens

Location

Gardens By The Bay, Singapore

Time

Around 7.30-8PM

Lighting

No special lightings. This is taken in natural light. I was waiting for the right timing, the blue hour

Equipment

I shot this with my mirrorless camera, Sony NEX 5 with 16mm lens, fish-eye adapter and tripod

Inspiration

I always wanted to shoot this garden in a different way. So instead to shoot the landscape, I lay down flat to the ground with my camera and tripod and tilted my camera up fully.

Editing

Not much. Only slight color adjustment in Adobe Lightroom. I pretty much got the color that I want in the camera.

In my camera bag

Besides my DSLR or my small mirrorless and ultra wide lens, tripod and shutter cable release is a must.

Feedback

Timing and weather is crucial. We need to wait for the blue hour, when the skies turn blue, but not black. And when the small lights went on. It only happens in less than 15 minutes. After that, it will be pitch black. So preparation to get best angle and the camera setting very important to do in advance
