This is also my favorite I have taken. I know it was in the fall. Cold and wet. Raining off and on. I was not close to her, I did not want her to move. I saw that she seemed to be looking at me, so I braced myself on the wood rail, focused in as much as I could; and shot. The raw photo is a full body shot.Lighting
Since it was a wet, rainy day I held little hope of a good photo. The raw shot is under exposed. I had taken a photo class years ago and just picked up photography again. From my experience I set what I could on the camera to adjust for the low light. I corrected the exposure in Lightroom and was amazed.Equipment
It is a great shot from a Kodak Z740. No tripod or flash.Inspiration
I always loved photography. Was an art major and would draw, but photos are a whole other world. This day was hanging with my teens. The lioness just was amazing, with those eyes. I had to capture her image. I am still enthralled by her when I view this photo and she is the inspiration for me to keep on. I got a better camera and went from there.Editing
I corrected the low exposure in post-processing. The original is fine, but a bit underexposed. In my camera bag
I use a NIKON D3200. I have a zoom lens in my bag and some filters, but like doing macro shots. I have a tripod and monopod.Feedback
Set your camera to get the best shot you can, but don't give up on the photo until you see it in post-processing. I try to post-process as little as possible, but I do not feel bad if I have to do more. Just like film processing, sometimes you had to play with the exposure and focus when creating the photos from the negatives.
