Location
I took this photo in my street on the Gold Coast, Australia. I was coming back from a morning stroll.Time
The image was taken early in the morning.Lighting
It was the early morning sun, shining on the dew on a flower about to bloom. The angle of the sun really highlighted the contours and reflections in the flower.Equipment
I took this photo with my Sony Alpha 77 with a zoom lens. The shot was just taken hand held.Inspiration
The contrast of this flower in among the hedge of the garden. With the morning sun shining on the dew droplets it was striking. I had actually shut the camera down on my walk back and didn't think I would find the inspiration in my own street.Editing
I desaturated the image, brought out the white, and the contrasts. Cropped the image and slightly sharpened it.In my camera bag
Nikon D810, Tamron28-70 zoom lens and Nikon Prime Lens, Lens hoods and spare battery.Feedback
I used a very fast shutter speed to enable the background to be blacked out. There was enough exposure in the flower petals being white with direct sunlight. Always keep a look out for a photo opportunity. Opportunities turn up in the strangest places.
