Great rendition of an image that captured the hearts of many who gazed at the photo. I like. If I may, try to capture the photo using a dark viel, it will draw the attention more to the subjects eyes. Also place some slight dirt or a smudge for a much more dramatic effect. You can also just flip image to black and white and color select just the eyes for a great composition. Just some advice, but I will love to see image black and white. Try it, you will see the difference.

Thanks so much for the comments and recognition. To be honest I just snapped a few quick shots of my wife, while we were on a remote beach in Malaysia she had just thrown a "travel towel" over her head partly to dry her hair and partly for shade...
You are referencing the Piece "Afghan Girl" that was on the cover of National Geographic in 1985, That shot is quite famous and Amazing in it's own right, though I had Zero intention of trying to recreate that shot. I can see how some may think that was my intention!
Personally I try to stay away from recreations or renditions, and I rarely use selective color through editing, although those kind of images are often powerful and look amazing it doesn't really fit my photography or editing style.... Thanks all the same =)

Thanks so much. Well my wife is quite shy when it comes to "modeling" for me but she humors me from time to time and I've been able to get some nice results =) Thanks though I'll pass the compliment on to her!
