Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the pier in the town of Berwick upon Tweed in Northumberland in the UK

Time

I took this shot in afternoon in winter one of many storms to hit the UK that year, big swell just half an hour before high tide

Lighting

Mid afternoon low sun due to it being winter time gave a nice reflection off the lighthouse and crest of the waves

Equipment

Cannon 600D handheld sigma 17-70mm

Inspiration

I can see the sea from my house i saw the conditions where just right high tide ,big swell , breeze or wind blowing away from me so no spray , i wanted to capture its power but yet not to be overwhelming , if that makes sense .

Editing

Yes i processed the image in an hdr software

In my camera bag

Canon 600D, canon 700D, Canon 5D mk1 sigma 17-70mm canon 10-18mm cannon 55-250 mm manfrotto tripod all carried in a Manfrotto NX Messenger bag

Feedback

Yes study your subject and weather conditions , and never put yourself in danger the sea can be so beautiful even when in a storm ,but it is also very unforgiving
