This old post has seen better days. It is the anchor post for a row of grapes in the Okanagan BC near Oliver.

A quick stop rewarded me with this chance at a spectacular sunrise on my way to work. Road 22 just north of Osoyoos BC.

I couldn't walk by without taking a picture of this beautiful flower and thought i would try to make an interesting composition with the framing.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Canada Day fireworks in Osoyoos BC.

Time

This shot was taken at about 10:30 pm.

Lighting

The sun had set about an hour before the event. So there was ambient light from the sunset and mostly just the light from the fireworks.

Equipment

I used a nikon d7000 with an 18 - 200 mm nikor lens. A tripod was used as the exposure was about 11 seconds. A trigger release cable was used as well.

Inspiration

The thought of fireworks over the lake on a beautiful desert night was more than enough inspiration to set up.

Editing

Lightroom. A little contrast and saturation.

In my camera bag

D7000, 18-200 mm, 50 mm, remote and trigger release, tripod and lens cloth.
