Captivating image. You have some great bird shots. If you have a chance, you might enjoy checking out my Wild Birds album.

Excellent POV, texture, bokeh, and the best part is that it tells a story! Wonderful! Congrats on your Award (from a long time ago)!

Location
I took this photo from a bridge over North america's busiest higway in Toronto. The 401. The birds were perching on one of the highway's signs.Time
It was early in the evening in the fall, just before dark.Lighting
Lighting conditions were pretty low while the sun was going downEquipment
I used a Nikon Coolpix P500 in automatic with no accesories.Inspiration
Birds always inspire me and the starlings and the cars passing by made a very interesting urban scene that caught my eye and I just had to capture it.Editing
I did some contrast and saturation and a little sharpening to enhance the image. In my camera bag
At the time I took this picture I used to shoot with my Nikon Coolpix P500 and I didn't carry any equiment with me. It was a challenge for me to get a decent capture with no profesional equipment to prove that the camera doesn't make the photographer. Lately I 've been shooting with my new Nikon D3300 with the kit lens (18-35 mm) and I carry a flash that normally I don't use. An accesory that I've been trying and usually carry with me, is a Crystal ball that I'am experiencing with, to get something a bit more creative and diferent. Another challenge that I enjoy facing.Feedback
Zooming is very important for this type of photos and adjusting the distance to focus properly is a must, but timing is crucial, no matter the equipment or technic. Keep trying and you'll get there.
